A 54-BORE BEAUMONT ADAMS DOUBLE ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER RETAILED BY NIXON OF NEWARK, CIRCA 1860, serial nos. 21651 and 38452,
with 5 3/4in. London proofed octagonal barrel with dovetailed blade fore-sight and fitted on the left with Kerr's patent rammer, the top strap engraved with the retailers name 'D. NIXON NEWARK', borderline engraved frame with bolt safety and engraved '21,651 / ADAMS PATENT 37,452', (Beaumont revolver no. 21,651, Adams patent use number 37,452), five shot cylinder bearing the Adams serial number, one piece chequered walnut grips with domed oval butt-cap, traces of blue on barrel frame and cylinder, action at fault
